During busy times like this, it’s easy for those smaller household tasks to fall through the cracks, only to leave you feeling overwhelmed & wishing you had been a little more prepared.

How to Prep Your Home for the Holidays

#1: Declutter Declutter Declutter

Decluttering should be done seasonally, especially for our friends who are shopaholics just like us. Scheduling the time to declutter your home before the holidays is an amazing way to get rid of anything that might be taking up unnecessary space in your home while donating to a family in need during this holiday season.

#2: Put Away Your Fall Decor & Set Up Your Holiday Decor

It’s time to put away the spooky decorations & millions of glass pumpkins you got at Homesense this fall & pull out your festive holiday decor.

Pro Tip: If your home starts to look cluttered when decorating for the holidays, a quick fix is to temporarily remove some of your everyday decor (family photos, vases etc.).

One question we are asked ALL the time is how to store seasonal decor, which is why we thought we would link our MUST HAVE storage boxes to make storing your fall decor that much easier this year. You can thank us later for this one.

#3: Schedule The Cleaning Company

Let’s be honest, nothing feels better than a deep clean & full house detail refresh. Scheduling the cleaning company a few weeks before the holidays can be an amazing way to make sure your home feels & looks fresh for the holidays.

#4: Hostess Check

If you are hosting holiday celebrations in your home this year, you are going to want to make sure you have the proper dishes & supplies to do so. Considering your holiday “menu” and what dishes you will be serving your guests can help ensure you have everything you need to keep things organized and well set.

With so many small details to remember, we knew we had to help you keep your guest bedroom in check during the holidays.
